ACHIEVE Opens Applications for the Fully Funded Global Health Research Training Opportunity 2027–2028 for Early-Career Researchers The ACHIEVE Research Training Program is available to applicants who qualify. The ACHIEVE Research Training Program 2027 is now accepting applications from early-career researchers dedicated to advancing global health and developing innovative solutions to health disparities that affect children, adolescents, and their adult caregivers.
The programme strengthens research capacity in two key areas: dissemination and implementation (D&I) science, and data science. Participants gain the practical skills needed to design, evaluate, and scale evidence-based health interventions that can improve real-world outcomes.
ACHIEVE operates as a consortium within the NIH Fogarty International Center’s Global Health Program for Fellows and Scholars / Launching Future Leaders in Global Health Research Training (LAUNCH) Program. It offers interdisciplinary training, structured mentorship, and professional development opportunities for emerging leaders in global health.
Applications are welcome from medical doctors (MDs), doctoral students, and postdoctoral scholars based in the United States and selected African countries.

ACHIEVE Training Program 2027 for Global Health Researchers (Fully Funded)
The ACHIEVE Training Program is a fully funded, one-year global health research fellowship designed to strengthen Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) and Data Science research capacity to address health disparities affecting children, adolescents, and their caregivers in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
Supported under the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) Fogarty International Center (FIC) Global Health Program for Fellows and Scholars/Launching Future Leaders in Global Health Research Training Program (LAUNCH), ACHIEVE provides advanced research training for medical doctors, postdoctoral researchers, and other early-career health professionals.
The program welcomes applicants from the United States and six eligible sub-Saharan African countries: Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, and Uganda. ACHIEVE also collaborates with research institutions across Sub-Saharan Africa, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe to address shared global health challenges.
During the 12-month fellowship, participants receive hands-on training in D&I and data science while working on research projects focused on areas such as HIV/AIDS, mental health, cancer, nutrition, environmental health, parenting, and child and adolescent health. Fellows are expected to commit 40 hours per week at an approved research site located in a low- or middle-income country.
To be eligible, U.S. applicants must be postdoctoral fellows or professionals who obtained their terminal degree (such as PhD, MD, PharmD, or ScD) within the past six years. Applicants from the eligible African countries must also have earned a terminal professional or doctoral degree (such as PhD or MBChB) within six years before the program begins.
ACHIEVE Programme Objectives

- Develop advanced skills in dissemination and implementation science so that proven interventions can move effectively from research settings into practice.
